The Mobilize Love fleet of outreach trucks are a symbol of hope in some of the darkest places.
“Will You Show Up?”
The Story Behind Mobilize Love Trucks
Our Fleet
Laundry Truck
est. 2018
Our Laundry Truck is literally a laundromat on wheels - FIRST in the Bay Area. With four washers and dryers, we are able to wash and dry multiple loads of laundry each time the truck is deployed. By washing clothes, not only do we meet a practical need in the inner-city, but providing clean clothes also restores to people a sense of dignity. Each load washed, is a load lifted for these families.
Stage Truck
est. 2019
‘MOBY’ the Stage Truck hosts our flagship ML Kids Program which is a sidewalk after-school program. This high energy weekly program from the Stage Truck includes music, drama, games, prizes, an empowering message of hope and good news that is so often hard to come by. This is supplemented by mentorship, coaching and home visitations by our team and community partners.
Food Truck
est. 2020
Our beloved Food Truck is the first non-profit food truck EVER in the Bay Area — and has garnered attention for being an essential hero serving on the frontlines throughout the 2020 pandemic crisis. Our Food Truck has the ability to cook and serve hundreds of meals each day. By providing food, we are meeting the most basic physiological needs and in doing so, we replace hunger for hope!
Stories Truck
est. 2021
Our Stories Truck will replace our Wellness Truck in 2021 as one of our core fleet of four outreach trucks as we continue to meet the needs of our community’s kids and youth. As part of the flagship ML Kids Program, the Stories Truck is a unique mobile library that provides free story books to our communities, where access to public libraries, books and literary materials are often limited.
Strategy
Assess the Need
Our first approach is to identify a need in the community and find a gap where we can offer services. We do this by providing pop-up outreaches that allow us to engage the community and listen to them.
|
Build the Programs
We meet with community partners who offer complementary or subsidizing work in the community to ensure we are adding value to the community. We are a highly collaborative nonprofit that has a unique business model called ENGINE. For more information about ENGINE, please click here.
|
Invest in the Community
Then we take action. This is the most important part of our strategy because it involves SHOWING UP and GIVING HOPE through our mobile human services and after-school programs. There is no workaround or shortcut to mobilizing love, oftentimes, LOVE for the people in these communities is spelled: T-I-M-E.
|
Empower Children, Youth, and Families
Our long-term goal is for the community to take ownership of their own community. Effective and long-lasting changes in the community happen when people are empowered right where they live.
